Save your "Brokeback" jokes

Today's idea is for a movie, and sadly, I haven't come up with a catchy title for it. Maybe you could help.

Anyway, this movie is kind of a high school romantic comedy. Ok, it isn't kind of like one. It is one.

The main characters, and romantic leads, are two dudes. One is the school basketball star, while the other is an outcasted art student.

At the movies beginning, they're already dating. Outcasted art student wants star basketball player to come out, but of course he is reluctant. You see, state finals are in a few weeks, the week after prom.

Some ancillary characters include: art student's punker girl best friend, basketball's beard, the jerk-face teammate who doesn't want a to play with a gay dude, the coach who just wants to win.

Eventually artcasted out student wins basketball guy over and he agrees to go to prom as a couple. He is nervous.

Art guy gets beat up a few days before prom and this freaks sports guy out. He refuses to go to the dance, even though art is going, bruises and all. Art makes one last impassioned plea to basketball, which sport's guy's dad overhears.

Sports still refuses.

Sport's dad, who is gruff and quiet, but fair, as it turns out, convinces basketball to go in a scene that will probably make you cry.

Sport's goes and screams art's name across the gymnasium and they run to each other all dramatic like. This scene might also make you cry.

The last scene is sports playing in the state finals as art cheers him on from the stands.

Tegan and Sara will be doing the soundtrack, mostly with songs from "So Jealous."

I feel like this has just the right amount of cliched characters and plotlines that it could work.
