Animated - for real

I feel slighlty guilty about coming up with yet another way to convince kids they should convine their won parents to spend money, but not that guilty. So, kids will always like cartoons. And they'll forever want to buy things associated with said cartoons. This is a way to get them something personalized with that, um, hard-earned money.

So, the cartoon manufacturers just get about a 5 minute stock epidsode with a place for some generic dialogue. Parents can order this with a personalized message for their kid. Maybe it's for the birthday. Maybe just for fun. Think about it. You say, "Hey, Johnny. I just got this new Captain Awesome episode. Do you want to watch it?" You put them in front of the TV, they watch it, and half way in Captain Awesome stops and says something very unique to Johnny's life. Maybe his name. Maybe he tells him he'll grow out of that awkward phase. Whatever. You could get the voice actor to do it, or someone who sounds reasonably like the voice actor, and charge the parents, say $100? It's a lot, but if you convince the kids they want it, then the kids will convice the parents. Isn't it great? I know it seems shady, but god damn it, this is America. Or something.

Didn't the Simpsons already do this? Homer screwed up Lisa's birthday wish for a diary and bought her a generic cartoon instead.
