Dinner Party Show

Last night my band played a show that was not so much a show as a bunch of people hanging a little dinner and sitting around in a parlour. We didn't know that this was the case before we showed up, but that's besides the point.

I keep saying that I want people to make their own fun. It's really been my shtick for the last year or two. The stop being so passive in your enjoyment thing. Well that's all well and good, but you can't always just leave a bunch of instruments or paint supplies around your house and let your guests have at it.

So I'm saying, invite a friend or a local musician to play a show. Or a few of them. But like real casual. But still a show. Set 'em up somewhere and have them play a set. A few groups would be even better. Like having parlour music.

Key things: an option at the party, not the point itself. The person is there performing, but like carnival, maybe you walk into the room for a song and then parade on by to go dunk a girl in a dunk tank.

Just think about it. Think about spreading music and art in really simple and casual ways. Please?
