Friend Match Game

Novel and throw-away in a sense.

I find out of the blue self-denigration is still my favourite way to start posts.

You know how chat has multiple people features? Not chat rooms, but invitation group chatting. Maybe if you saw someone sign on that you wanted to talk to and another friend sign on as well (and the two don't know each other) you could introduce them and chat with them both. Maybe they'd get along. And what better way to facilitate a first meeting? (I mean, clearly there are other and better ways, but why not go with what the internet has to offer, which is after all something.)

I mean this is sort of the starting charge that something like a Facebook needs. Obviously if you go to a party and meet a person you can hit them up on FB, but what if you just see their profile and think they're cool. Then asking them to be your friend without meeting first is just weird.

Maybe this could include a whole introduction card system. You could say 'hey friend, your friend seems cool. i'd like to be their friend too, can you give me an intro?' This could even be an official thing like an old fashioned letter of introduction that could come appended to your friend request. Or it could be an introductory chatting session.

Cause social networks are a tool, but fairly under developed ones in a lot of ways. Perhaps I should have titled this: Taking Social Networking (Far Too) Seriously.
